Social Media Shyness and Book Updates

Book 2, Jamie, Orestes, social media
Social Media Shyness Facebook tells me it’s been 68 days since I’ve posted anything A Warrior’s Legacy on social media. This does not surprise me in the least (and if you know me personally, it probably doesn’t surprise you either--I mean, having the same profile picture for a year? Absurd!), but I know 68 days is probably something like two years in social media time, so I’m quite behind. I’ve realized social media is far too immediate for me as a novel writer. With a novel, I have months and months to decide just how to say something, and now with e-books, I could go back and change the whole thing if I really needed to. But with social media, I write a few hundred words and then hit…

Orestes is now available! (and FAQ about the rerelease)

Book 2, Orestes
I am excited to share that the new edition of A Warrior's Legacy: Orestes is officially available! Ebook Paperback (Note: Any hardback copies are of the first edition with the old cover; the second edition will not be available in hardback, at least for a while.) I tried to anticipate some questions below, but if I missed something, just leave a comment and I'll get back to you. Thanks! If I already have a copy of Orestes, do I need to get a new one? Absolutely not! I definitely don't want anyone paying for the same book twice unless you just want both editions for your bookshelf. I'm working on some giveaways to give people a chance at free copies, so stay posted here or on Facebook or Twitter…

Cover Reveal: Orestes

cover, Orestes
So here it is--the new cover for A Warrior's Legacy: Orestes: I worked with Rebecca K. Sterling of Sterling Design Studios, and I could not be happier with what she's created! I love all the little details; if you've already read Orestes, you might recognize the bottle of serum in the "O" and the eyes of a Morrok at the bottom--all too cool! What do you think? How Not to Write a Book Series

How Not to Write a Book Series

Book 2, Orestes
Here's how not to write a book series (in case anyone was wondering): Write and publish the first book. Share that book with your family and friends and new reader friends. Have these lovely people read your book and really, truly enjoy it. Tell them that there are eight books in the series and tease them with details from the second book. Then don't write. At all. For four years. Completely leaving them hanging. It's been more than four years since I first published A Warrior's Legacy: Orestes, and every time someone has asked me about it, even when they tell me how much they loved it, I've felt a pang of guilt. I dropped the ball. I made an implicit promise to myself and anyone kind enough to take…
