Although the Morroks surpass Humans in both size and strength, for generations they have skulked in deserts and moved among Humans only in secret. They train their children with brutal thoroughness and psychological torment, teaching them both to isolate themselves and to kill without thought.
It is foretold that only two families have a hope of standing up to the Morroks, but their own flaws and blunders often threaten to cripple them before they can ever lift a sword against their enemy. Some of them believe in the prophecy, and some don’t; but none of them can escape the fact that the Morroks want to eliminate their only competition at any cost—even if it means destroying the very land that they fight to control.
